Spouted Chawan

$60.00

This Katakuchi Chawan (片口茶碗) offers a thoughtful solution for preparing and sharing matcha. Its spouted design allows matcha to be whisked in the traditional way and then poured cleanly into smaller cups or another vessel, minimizing waste and mess—ideal for serving guests or preparing matcha for recipes. This versatile bowl can also be used as a yuzamashi (water-cooling pot), making it a beautiful and functional addition to any tea practice. Crafted by Rito Aoshima, a second-generation potter working in the Shitoro-Yaki tradition of Shizuoka, each bowl reflects over 900 years of ceramic heritage and the elegant refinement of tea culture.

Holds up to 10 oz (300ml); 3 oz (90 ml) recommended for whisking matcha.
